Counseling Approach

Hello and welcome to Heartfelt Horizons Therapy, where change and healing thrive within the safety of the therapeutic relationship. My name is Alicia Pasik and I use she/they pronouns. As your therapist, I am highly relational and believe in the power of genuine connections. I approach our therapeutic relationship with authenticity, curiosity, warmth, and care. Together, we'll embark on a transformative journey to nurture your well-being.

In our work together, I recognize that sometimes words alone are insufficient to express our deepest emotions. In such instances, I incorporate creative modalities such as sand play, art therapy, and expressive arts to facilitate a deeper understanding of your emotions. I offer both in-person and virtual appointments. During our initial consultation phone call, we will discuss which format may be the best fit for you.

Education & Licensure

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon, and a nationally certified Clinical Rehabilitation Counselor. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Portland State University. This comprehensive training equips me to address both clinical mental health issues and support individuals with disabilities.

I also earned a Bachelor's degree in Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy through Lesley College. This specialized training included major coursework in art, music, dance, poetry, drama & play therapy, and informs my counseling practice today. Furthermore, I am trained in the Sandplay method through the esteemed Sandplay Training Worldwide institute.

Who I Work With

I work with adults who are 18+. I do not offer couples or family therapy at this time. I have a special interest in working with folks who are autistic, transitional aged youth (18-24), and folks who identify as LGBTQIA+ .

I am LGBTQIA+ allied and deeply committed to providing anti-racist services. With cultural humility, I strive to understand how privilege and oppression impact mental and emotional health, creating an inclusive space for everyone. I honor and celebrate neurodiversity as a unique way of existing in the world, rather than a condition to be fixed. I aspire to make my counseling services accessible for folks with physical and intellectual disabilities.
